The Sweet are a good band. I know that Nirvana was big on them and I got turned on to them as to this by meeting Dale Crover from the Melvins and listening to this while driving around LA one day years back. It’s like Cheap trick but better. Like Queen with more compact songs and rediculous Glam production, even more funny than Gary Glitter. Party on hooligans.
Yes, they were a super band. There are two offshoot bands lead to the two surviving members. They were also one of the best singing/playing bands ever. You rarely get the combination of abilities to both play and sing that Sweet. They aslo wrote some super songs which covered a broad spectrum from heavy metal to prog rock. Their bubblegum stuff was only the beginning.
